This policy explains what cookies this website uses and how to control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets a site remember something between pages or between visits — that you are logged in, or that you have already dismissed a notice. Some are set by the site you are visiting, others by services embedded in the page.
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies that are not strictly necessary. We use CookieYes to run that banner and to record your answer.
Nothing beyond the strictly necessary category is set until you accept. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are placed and the website works exactly as it does otherwise — every page, every project, and all three forms.
To change your mind at any time, open Cookie settings and update your choice. Your preference is stored for up to a year, after which the banner asks again.
These make the site work and cannot be switched off.
We load Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager is a container that decides which measurement tags run; it is configured so that analytics tags fire only after analytics consent is given. Google Analytics then sets:
This tells us which pages are read, how people arrive, roughly what region they are in and what device they use. It is reporting about the website, not an attempt to identify you, and it is not linked to anything you type into a form.
The Contact page embeds a Google map. When that map loads, Google may set its own cookies under Google’s policies rather than ours. If you would rather it did not, decline non-essential cookies or block third-party cookies in your browser — the address, directions and opening hours are written out in text on the same page.
No advertising or remarketing cookies. No conversion pixels for Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn or anyone else. No social media tracking. No cross-site profiling, and no data collected by cookies is ever sold. If that changes — for instance if Icon Steel starts running paid advertising and adds a conversion tag through Tag Manager — this page will be updated first and the banner will ask you about that category separately.
The banner controls this site. Your browser controls everything, and you can block or delete cookies at any time:
Blocking cookies will not stop you reading this website, browsing projects or sending us a quote request. It may stop the embedded map from working, and it will stop an administrator being able to log in. If you delete the consent cookie, the banner will simply ask you again.
Browsers can send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. There is no agreed standard for how a site should answer Do Not Track, and this site does not respond to it. It matters little here: we run no advertising or cross-site tracking whatever signal your browser sends, and analytics runs only on consent you have actively given.
Cookies described above as ours are set by this website. The rest are set by third parties under their own policies:
If we add or remove a service that sets cookies, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
