What we fabricate and erect

Fabricated in our own shop
Our Marana shop fabricates jobs from small tenant improvements to full commercial structural steel packages. Fitters and welders work from approved shop drawings, with a quality control program that follows each piece from cut list to load-out.
Because we control the shop schedule, a drawing revision can be worked into production directly rather than renegotiated with an outside fabricator. Finished steel is loaded and delivered on our own trucks, so the handover point is the job site, not a freight yard.
Measured before it is made
We work from the approved contract documents and coordinate closely with the GC and design team through shop drawings and RFIs. Much of our detailing is done in-house, and a Trimble X7 laser scanner lets us measure field conditions before shop drawings start. On a retrofit or a tenant improvement, that is the difference between steel that fits on the first pick and steel that goes back to the shop.
Icon Steel is not the engineer of record. We fabricate and erect to the engineered drawings and specifications provided for the project.
Where a job also has stairs, rails or canopies, that is architectural and miscellaneous metals, and we self-perform that too. If it is smaller and more urgent than a full package, that is Fast Track.
Erected by our own crews
Icon Steel provides structural steel erection throughout Arizona, including the Tucson-to-Phoenix corridor. Our crews are experienced in commercial construction, retail, multi-family housing and industrial projects.
They arrive with the safety program, the certifications and the job-site conduct a general contractor expects on a commercial site: a written safety program in compliance with OSHA 1926 Subpart R, daily safety briefings, and OSHA-certified supervision.
